A simple veterans memorial resides in the heart of Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
This cemetery contains two rare graves, one being a War of 1812 veteran grave for Elijah Bristow, the first settler to build a cabin in Lane County. Amazingly, Bristow's grave does not give any mention of him being a veteran of the War of 1812, although it's mentioned in an online obituary I located.
This cemetery also contains a rare historical marker of a Daughter of a Soldier of the American Revolution, another rare find in a cemetery.
Both of these graves are rare to see on the West Coast.
