The open-air theater of Lycabettus.
The Lycabettus Theater is an open-air theater located in a former quarry, on the hill of Lycabettus in Athens. Performances and performances take place in the theater during the summer, as part of the Athens and Epidaurus Festival.
History
It was built in 1964-65. The premises of the quarry were rented in October 1964 by Anna Synodinou for twenty years, with permission to build a theater and with the obligation to return to the ownership of the State after the period of the lease.
Construction
Architect of the theater was Takis Zenetos. The theater consists of a metal skeleton, which has been built in a hollow space that arose from quarrying
