La galerie d'art a vu le jour au printemps 2008 grâce à l'initiative de Réseau Action Val-Morin, un regroupement de travailleurs autonomes, entrepreneurs, commerçants et artistes de Val-Morin sous la présidence de Chantal Blanchette. La Municipalité de Val-Morin a appuyé ce projet en acceptant de défrayer les coûts annuels de location des locaux du presbytère, ce qu'elle a continué de faire depuis. Les artistes, sous la présidence de Francine Langlois, administratrice de la Fondation Maison Emmanuel, ont mis la main à la pâte pour adapter les locaux et en faire une charmante galerie d'art. Une subvention du Comité Consultatif en Culture leur a permis de faire l'installation de rails d'accrochage et d'éclairage adéquats. L'inauguration de la galerie nommée alors Les Oeuvres du Terr'Art s'est faite le 7 juin 2008.

En 2012, les artistes du collectif ont changé le nom de la galerie pour Galerie d'art Espace Rhizomes. Un artiste, Eric Hallynck, a créé le logo. S'en sont suivis cartes d'affaire et enseigne extérieure, cette dernière grâce à une subvention du député Claude Cousineau.

Le 30 avril 2013, la galerie d'art Espace Rhizomes obtenait ses lettres patentes et devenait Organisme Sans But Lucratif (OBNL).

From figurative art to abstract art, our emerging and professional artists express themselves through a variety of mediums.

  
The art gallery was created in spring 2008 thanks to the initiative of Réseau Action Val-Morin, a group of independent workers, entrepreneurs, traders and artists from Val-Morin, chaired by Chantal Blanchette. The Municipality of Val-Morin has supported this project by agreeing to defray the annual costs of renting the premises of the parsonage, which it has continued to do since. The artists, under the chairmanship of Francine Langlois, administrator of the Maison Emmanuel Foundation, put their hands in the dough to adapt the premises and make a charming art gallery. A grant from the Advisory Committee on Cultivation enabled them to install suitable hanging and lighting rails. The inauguration of the gallery then named Les Oeuvres du Terr'Art was made on June 7, 2008.

In 2012, the artists of the collective changed the name of the gallery for Espace Rhizomes Art Gallery. An artist, Eric Hallynck, created the logo. Business cards followed and outdoor sign, the latter thanks to a grant from MP Claude Cousineau.

On April 30, 2013, the Espace Rhizomes art gallery obtained its letters patent and became a non-profit organization (NPO).
