Stop 12 of 15 on the 2.5 mile boardwalk through Audubon's Corkscrew Swamp Preserve.

The sign explains how they came to be called "Lettuce Lakes" as well as info on some animals that benefit from these plants.

There are many birds that nest in this area, and it is not unusual to see turtles and occasionally alligators sunning themselves around the lakes. The "rangers" will have spotting scopes set up to see wildlife here very often.
