I recovered this Oregon State Highway Department benchmark from 1941 in good condition. It is a brass disk monumented on top of a concrete sidewalk and located at the SW corner of Marys River Bridge which spans Marys River. This benchmark is listed on a topography map as 'BM 225'. My posted coordinates should place you very close to this mark.

RECOVERY NOTE BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1987 RECOVERED IN GOOD CONDITION, AS NEW DESCRIPTION FOLLOWS. 1.3 KM (0.80 MI) SOUTH ALONG STATE HIGHWAY 99W FROM ITS JUNCTION WITH U.S. HIGHWAY 20 IN CORVALLIS, IN THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE WEST WALKWAY OF THE NORTHBOUND LANES BRIDGE SPANNING THE MARYS RIVER, 3.9 M (12.8 FT) WEST OF THE CENTERLINE OF THE NORTHBOUND LANES OF THE HIGHWAY, 2.0 M (6.6 FT) EAST OF THE WEST GUARDRAIL, AND 0.6 M (2.0 FT) NORTH OF THE SOUTH END OF THE WALKWAY. NOTE--NOT LEVELED THIS SURVEY, AND THE MARK IS STAMPED B 192 1934 1941 224B. THE MARK IS 0.2 M ABOVE THE HIGHWAY.
