FR À partir de 1664, et pendant plus de cinquante ans, Benoîte Rencurel voit la Vierge Marie (ainsi que le Christ en Croix, saint Maurice, sainte Barbe, saint Joseph, saint Gervais et saint Protais, l'enfant Jésus, sainte Catherine de Sienne, les anges, et le diable). Ces apparitions entraînent en quelques années la venue d'une foule de pèlerins.

Dès 1666, on édifie un sanctuaire contenant à l'intérieur la petite chapelle où la Vierge est apparue à Benoîte Rencurel.

Le sanctuaire accueille tout au long de l'année de nombreux pèlerins soucieux du message du Laus « Laissez-vous réconcilier ! » qui est un appel à vivre la réconciliation dans tout notre être : relations avec Dieu, avec les autres, et avec soi-même, mais aussi avec le corps, avec le temps, avec le monde céleste…

Le bâtiment actuel est une extension de l'église construite dès 1666 qui ne comprenait que la nef actuelle et un mur qui supportait une cloche. Chaque pèlerin en montant de la vallée venait déposer une pierre et en 1669, l'église était terminée.

L'imposant clocher qui jouxte le bâtiment a été ajouté à partir de 1834 par les pères Oblats de Marie Immaculée responsables du sanctuaire9.

L'église a été élevée à la dignité de « basilique mineure » par le pape Léon XIII le 18 mars 1892.

La basilique contient elle-même :
* la chapelle de Bon-Rencontre ;
* la statue de marbre qui a été couronnée ;
* la lampe à huile ;
* le tombeau de Benoîte ;
* les 14 tableaux racontant la vie de Benoîte ;
* la statue Notre-Dame des Grâces que l'on porte en procession ;
* la chapelle absidiale « la Rotonde » qui contient le portrait de Benoîte.
EN From 1664, and for over fifty years, Benoîte Rencurel sees the Virgin Mary (as well as Christ on the Cross, Saint Maurice, Saint Barbara, Saint Joseph, Saint Gervais and Saint Protais, the baby Jesus, Saint Catherine of Siena , the angels, and the devil). These appearances lead in a few years to the arrival of a crowd of pilgrims.

As early as 1666, a sanctuary was built containing inside the small chapel where the Virgin appeared at Benoîte Rencurel.

The sanctuary welcomes throughout the year many pilgrims concerned about the message of Laus "Let reconcile! Which is a call to live reconciliation throughout our being: relationships with God, with others, and with oneself, but also with the body, with time, with the heavenly world ...

The current building is an extension of the church built in 1666 that included only the current nave and a wall that supported a bell. Each pilgrim from the valley came to lay a stone and in 1669, the church was finished.

The imposing bell tower adjoining the building was added from 1834 by the Oblate Fathers of Mary Immaculate responsible for the sanctuary9.

The church was raised to the dignity of "minor basilica" by Pope Leo XIII on March 18, 1892.

The basilica itself contains:
* the chapel of Bon-Rencontre;
* the marble statue that was crowned;
* the oil lamp;
* the tomb of Benoite;
* 14 paintings telling the story of Benoîte;
* the statue of Our Lady of Grace, which is carried in procession;
* the apse chapel "la Rotonde" which contains the portrait of Benoîte.
