Elmwood Cemetery was dedicated in 1900 and currently has 7856 burials. The cemetery is rectangular and has a scattering of small trees. Paved drives bisect the cemetery in all directions. A small cemetery addition was dedicated in 2002 on the south side. At the entrance on the southeast corner, two rock pillars flank the drive. These were constructed in 1932. Along the south side of the cemetery for 1070 feet, a 3 foot high rock wall was built by the WPA in 1936.

The cemetery is well maintained and has a small rock chapel, and a wood gazebo.
