The town of Valley Mills sits on the Bosque County and McLennan County line. It was named for a mill built on the Bosque River in 1867. In 1881 the town moved one mile south to be alongside the tracks of the Gulf, Colorado and Santa Fe Railroad. The town's railroad and it's location on the Chisholm Trail made it a trading center for both McLennan and Bosque Counties. Dairy farming and stock raising remain the principal industries of the community.
This building is red brick with "City Hall" on the lintel above the front door. It has a peak roof with a cupola on top. The brick on the front of the building are stepped and topped with white cement.
