Adenau – Die Umgestaltung des Dr.-Creutz-Platzes im Zentrum von Adenau ist fast abgeschlossen, und der Supermarkt im neuen Gebäude öffnet am Dienstag seine Tür für die Kundschaft. Um den Platz in der Ortsmitte noch attraktiver zu gestalten, wollen die Adenauer Zünfte einen Zunftbrunnen errichten.
In der jüngsten Stadtratssitzung holte sich der Arbeitskreis, der sich um Initiator Walter Romes von der Hammerzunft gebildet hat, den Segen der Ratsmitglieder für das auf rund 20 000 Euro veranschlagte Projekt auf einer Fläche zwischen dem neuen Parkplatz und der Hauptstraße.
Das „Ja“ zum Brunnen fiel nicht schwer, denn die neue Attraktion soll es für die Stadt zum Nulltarif geben. Mit Spenden und Eigenleistungen soll der Zunftbrunnen samt Umfeldgestaltung realisiert werden. Vorgesehen sind zwei Stelen aus Basalt, zwischen denen die Wappen der Adenauer Hammer-, Wollenweber- und Gerberzunft angebracht werden. Davor erinnert eine alte Viehtränke an die Bedeutung des Platzes als ehemaliger Viehmarkt. Gepflastert wird der kleine Platz mit alten Steinen. Eine Stützwand aus Eifeler Grauwacke befestigt die Rückseite und bietet zudem Sitzgelegenheiten. Mit dem Verein für Heimatpflege wurde ein Flyer herausgegeben, der die Bürger über die Pläne informiert und um Spenden bittet.
In der Sitzung beschlossen wurden ferner die Forstwirtschaftspläne 2011 der Stadt. Im Haushaltsplan des Forstamtes Adenau kann ein Überschuss von rund 3500 Euro verbucht werden. „Im Vergleich zu den Vorjahren ein erfreuliches Ergebnis“, so Stadtbürgermeister Arnold Hoffmann. Da er an seinem Arbeitsplatz mit der Datenverarbeitung der RWE betraut ist, übergab er zum Tagesordnungspunkt „Künftige Stromversorgung der Stadt“ den Sitzungsvorsitz an den Beigeordneten Hans-Peter Geyer. Einstimmig votierte der Rat dafür, sich von den drei Bewerbern für RWE Rheinland Westfalen Netz AG zu entscheiden und mit dieser Firma einen neuen Konzessionsvertrag zu schließen. In diesem Vertrag verpflichtet sich RWE unter anderem, im Rahmen des Netzausbaus 25 Prozent der Anbaulängen bis 2015 mit Leerrohren für die DSL-Erschließung bereitzustellen. Außerdem werden die Straßenbeleuchtungsarbeiten in der Stadt bis 2012 abgeschlossen. Die Einrichtung eines RWE-Servicepunktes in Adenau erfolgt laut Vertrag in Abstimmung mit der Stadt, insbesondere im Hinblick auf die Öffnungszeiten.
Zuvor war im Rat neben dem jetzt beschlossenen Konzessionsmodell auch das alternative Beteiligungsmodell diskutiert worden. Die erforderliche Kapitalbeteiligung der Stadt sei allerdings bei der momentanen Finanzlage nicht tragbar, war sich der Rat einig."

A supporting wall made of Eifeler Grauwacke fastens the back and also offers seating. A flyer has been published with the Association for Home Care, which informs citizens about the plans and asks for donations.
The meeting also approved the city's forestry plans for 2011. A surplus of around EUR 3500 can be entered in the budget of the Adenau Forestry Office. "Compared to previous years, this was a pleasing result," said Arnold Hoffmann, mayor of the city. As he is responsible for RWE's data processing at his workplace, he handed over the chairmanship of the meeting to deputy Hans-Peter Geyer on the agenda item "Future electricity supply to the city". The Council unanimously voted in favour of RWE Rheinland Westfalen Netz AG from the three candidates and concluded a new concession contract with this company. In this contract, RWE undertakes, among other things, to make 25 percent of the cultivation lengths available with empty conduits for DSL access by 2015 as part of the network expansion.
