The Maldon LPO on High St was constructed in 1869, in 1880 the postmistress was Mary Richardson mother of Ethel Richardson who later received acclaim as the novelist Henry Handel Richardson known for 'The Getting of Wisdom" amongst others.
The LPO is open from 0900 to 1700 weekdays and 0900 to 1200 Saturday for a wide range of services including Passport applications.
