A military headstone is slowly being devoured by a large coniferous tree.

A large cedar is slowly swallowing up this military headstone to William Alexander. Fortunately, another headstone lies next to it that William shares with his wife, Jennie. William lived from 1846 to 1933. Jennie lived from 1872 to 1965. I would assume that William was a Civil War veteran.

Now here is what's really amazing: Findagrave.com contains a photo of this headstone and it is crazy to see the amount of growth over this headstone from my photo compared to the one on Findagrave.com. In another 50 years, it is possible that this headstone will be all but swallowed up whole.
