"The large dump wagon, pulled by 4 to 8 horses, and the two-wheeled scraper (2 to 5 horses), were typical and extensively used to build rail and roads beds from the 1800s to the 1900s."
"It is believed that the last contract for this outfit (belonging to J.A. Sandgreen of Pincher Creek) involved construction of #11 Highway (Louis Riel Trail between Hanley and Dundurn around 1930).
