The text below is taken from an on-site plaque installed by the Goulbourn Township Historical Society in 2009.
Frame house built in the years after the railway came to Stittsville in 1870. By 1885 Thomas Morgan operated a general store here. The building was purchased by the Union Bank in 1918, which became part of the Royal Bank in 1925. The Royal Bank stayed in this location until 1968 when it built its own building. The original vaults and bank drawers are still in use here. A series of retail businesses has occupied this site since the bank left.
