At the Tower of the Erlöserkirche in Adenau is a working clock mounted to the Tower.

The watch has a black and grey background, golden hands and golden roman numbers. The year of creation is unknown.

"The Church of the Redeemer is a Protestant church in Adenau, a town in the district of Ahrweiler in the north of Rhineland-Palatinate.

With the Church of the Redeemer Adenau, the first Protestant church in the area of Hocheifel and Ahreifel was built in 1913/14. Previously, the services had been held in a neighbouring prayer room.
The first parish priest, Count Emmanuel von Korff (1883-1945), was the initiator of the construction of the Church of the Redeemer. The land had already been purchased by the Adenauer Schulverband on behalf of the parish in 1904. Pastor von Korff came into contact with Ernst von Mirbach, the Empress' Lord Chamberlain, and Franz Schwechten, the architect of the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church in Berlin, who both participated in many church construction projects through the Protestant Kirchenbauverein. Schwechten, who was in Adenau for the first time in September 1911, presented his first drafts just five weeks later. The foundation stone was laid on 6 June 1913 and inaugurated on 26 April 1914.
Despite the "Schwechten-Mirbach Alliance", the imperial house had little influence on the construction of the church, which was expressed only in individual furnishings, such as the portal with the cross driven in bronze.

In August 1988, the Church of the Redeemer was placed under a preservation order. It is regarded as a "testimony to the Prussian-influenced church construction under the influence of the so-called Heimatschutzbewegung" and as an "important late work by the Berlin architect Geheimrat Franz von Schwechten". In the same year - after the renovations of 1954 and 1970 - it received the original Art Nouveau painting, which until then had been covered with two layers of paint, during its third fundamental exterior and interior renovation. This enabled the church to be largely restored to its original state of 1914."
