When I visited, the falls was mostly frozen over, but it's quite the torrent in the spring and summer.
This western is about a widower (Mitchum), his son and a saloon singer (Monroe) on a journey down a raging river. Apparently, it garnered some acclaim and features Monroe before she reached super stardom, but the general consensus was that the Canadian Rockies deserved top billing. Monroe told Variety that the “acting finished second to the scenery.”
