"The park is from Bosje van Heist, after the Second World War the dune area was turned into a park, the various paths in the park are reminiscent of the Heist political prisoners, the name of the park refers to the general director Willems, a manager who made the realization of the park possible.
Two ponds with brick banks were built in the park. There are also tennis courts and a petanque court. Part of the park consists of dunes. In the past, there were also bunkers in the park, which were cleaned in the meantime. In 2012, they undertook a park renewal operation: old trees were removed for new vegetation and the two ponds were demolished to make way for a new pond with natural banks. The work could be completed by the end of 2012.
In 1980, the municipal swimming pool De Raan was built in the park at the corner of the Zeedijk and Parkstraat. Since 1 September 2012, the final closure of the pool has become a fact, but there is still no question of a new destination for the building. "

"Le parc est originaire du Bosje van Heist . Après la Seconde Guerre mondiale, cette zone de dunes a été transformée en un parc. Les différents chemins du parc rappellent les prisonniers politiques de Heist. Le nom du parc fait référence au directeur général Willems, un responsable qui a rendu possible la réalisation du parc.
Deux étangs avec des rives en briques ont été construits dans le parc. Il y a aussi des courts de tennis et un terrain de pétanque. Une partie du parc se compose de dunes. Dans le passé, il y avait aussi des bunkers dans le parc, ceux-ci ont été nettoyés entre-temps. En 2012, ils ont entrepris une opération de renouvellement du parc: de vieux arbres ont été enlevés pour une nouvelle végétation et les deux étangs ont été démolis pour faire place à un nouvel étang avec des berges naturelles. Le travail pourrait être terminé à la fin de 2012.

Twee vijvers met stenen banken werden gebouwd in het park. Er zijn ook tennisbanen en een petanquebaan. Een deel van het park bestaat uit duinen. In het verleden waren er ook bunkers in het park, die in de tussentijd werden schoongemaakt. In 2012 ondernamen ze een parkvernieuwingsoperatie: oude bomen werden verwijderd voor nieuwe vegetatie en de twee vijvers werden gesloopt om plaats te maken voor een nieuwe vijver met natuurlijke oevers.
