This is a single bell, about 45 cm in diameter, with a pulley wheel on the side to help swing the bell by pulling on a rope - which is no longer attached. It is held aloft on two thin 'treated' telegraph poles, with a braced metal bracket. To make the bell work, there has been placed a much smaller pulley, to the side, so that the clapper is pulled sideways towards the post, and the bell stays stationery.
Beneath the bell is a white marble memorial block, with a brass plate, and the following inscription:
" 1921
In Memory of
Celia Watts & Patrick Caffery
from their loving relations"
On the side of the bell is cast:
"John Danks & Sons Pty Ltd
1921
Melbourne & Sydney"
