Hoekgebouw aan de Grauwwerkersstraat daterend uit 1399 met het consuls huis in Genua, gebouwd in 1441. Het complex was leeg na het vertrek van de Genuese in 1551. Van 1578 tot 1750: gebruikt door de vervallen wevers van Hondschote.

Dan verschillende functies; onder andere beweerd door de Engelse en Franse troepen. Verkocht in 1782 en daarna gebruikt als een hostel, estaminet, bioscoop, dance hall en sinds 1978, plaats van tentoonstelling en vergadering van een bankinstelling.

Sinds mei 2008 in dit gebouw het museum van de friet (Frietmuseum) werd geopend, heeft dit museum de reputatie dat het de enige ter wereld is die zich toelegt op de geschiedenis van aardappel en friet.

Angle building on the Grauwwerkersstraat dating back to 1399 with the consul's house in Genoa built in 1441. The complex was empty after the departure of the Genoese in 1551. From 1578 to 1750: used by the dilapidated weavers of Hondschote.

Then various functions; among others claimed by the English and French troops. Sold in 1782 and used thereafter as a hostel, estaminet, cinema, dance hall and since 1978, place of exhibition and meeting of a banking institution.

Since May 2008 in this building was opened the museum of the fries (Frietmuseum), this museum boasts of being the only one in the world devoted to the history of potato and fries.

Immeuble d'angle de la Grauwwerkersstraat datant de 1399 avec la maison d'accompagnement du consul de Gênes construite en 1441. Le complexe était vide après le départ des Génois en 1551. De1578 à 1750: utilisé par les tisserands délabrés de Hondschote.

Puis diverses fonctions; entre autres réclamés par les troupes anglaises et françaises. Vendue en 1782 et utilisée par la suite comme auberge, estaminet, cinéma, salle de danse et depuis 1978, lieu d'exposition et de réunion d'une institution bancaire.

Depuis mai 2008 dans ce bâtiment a été ouvert le musée de la frite (Frietmuseum), ce musée se targue d'être le seul au monde consacré à l'histoire de la pomme de terre et de la frite.
