Outside the Old Police Station, which is now the Shoalhaven Historical Museum, is a concrete water trough ]one of hundreds donated by Annis and George Bills], that was used to water horses in the 19th century. On it is mounted a brown painted steel, horse-drawn plough.
The plough still has a shackle, that would attach to the pair of horses. It could be used to adjust the forward angle of the plough blade, so it could be used by a single horse if necessary. The handles of the plough are bare except the coats of paint; but I am sure they would have had leather, or at least cloth wrapped around them when in use.
