The sign for the Coachwood tree, beside the Bomaderry Creek Track has the following information:

Coachwood
(Ceratopetalum apetalum)

Coachwood has blotchy, pale grey bark making it easy to recognise in the rainforest. Pink sepals appear in early summer.

It is considered to be an excellent cabinet timber and was removed from many forests to make coaches. During World War II it was used in the construction of Mosquito Fighter Bombers.

* This is a smallish metal sign, set at 45°, on a metal post. Terrain 2½ *
