I recovered this U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey benchmark from 1955 in good condition. It is a brass disk monumented in the SE corner of the courthouse building of Goldfield. The NGS coordinates will place you very close to this mark.

DESCRIBED BY COAST AND GEODETIC SURVEY 1955 AT GOLDFIELD. AT GOLDFIELD, AT THE COUNTY COURTHOUSE, SET VERTICALLY IN THE EAST CEMENT STONE MASONRY WALL, 48.3 FEET NORTH OF THE CENTER LINE OF U.S. HIGHWAY 95, 30.8 FEET EAST OF THE EAST EDGE OF THE STONE BANISTER OF THE SOUTH ENTRANCE, 1.4 FEET NORTH OF THE SOUTHWEST CORNER OF THE BUILDING, AND 1.7 FEET ABOVE THE GROUND.

RECOVERY NOTE BY NATIONAL GEODETIC SURVEY 1983 RECOVERED IN GOOD CONDITION. NEW DESCRIPTION FOLLOWS. IN GOLDFIELD, SET VERTICALLY IN THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF THE CUT STONE COURTHOUSE, 14.6 METERS (48 FT) NORTH OF THE HIGHWAY CENTERLINE, 0.4 METER (1.4 FT) NORTH OF THE SOUTHEAST CORNER, 0.5 METER (1.7 FT) ABOVE GROUND LEVEL.
