The sign for the sandpaper fig beside the Bomaderry Creek Track has the following information:

Sandpaper fig
(Ficus coronata)

[Line drawing of the leaves and fruit] - covered by pink paint

The sandpaper fig gets its name from the roughness of its leaves. The figs in the park are vulnerable during floods. Those that successfully establish themselves along the creek, such as this one, are often bent almost horizontal by the force of the flood waters.

* Unfortunately this Fora Sign had been graffitied, and spray painted pink, making it very hard to read, when I was there in October, 2017 *
