 The current castle which hosts the town hall was started in 1578 by Henri de Guise and Catherine de Clèves. Work continued thanks to the Grande Mademoiselle, cousin of King Louis XIV. In the 19th century, it became the summer residence of King Louis-Philippe who twice received Queen Victoria.
For a long time remains princely, then royal, the castle is now property of the city of Eu and the domain is classified Historical Monument since 1985.
The City of Eu, capital of the district of Dieppe, is a beautiful historic city. Its personality and its originality are indisputable: streets and houses of charm, grandiose monuments, wooded and flowery spaces, numerous shops ...
Its tourist sites are as numerous as they are varied and reflect 2,000 years of history, from Gallo-Roman archeology to high industrial technology (first glassware factory in the world): churches, museums, civil buildings, parks, gardens, streets historic, forest, hiking trails, sea nearby (Alabaster Coast and Baie de Somme).

 Le château actuel qui accueille l'hôtel de ville a été commencé en 1578 par Henri de Guise et Catherine de Clèves. Les travaux se sont poursuivis grâce à la Grande Mademoiselle, cousine du roi Louis XIV. Au XIXe s., il devient la résidence d’été du roi Louis-Philippe qui y reçut deux fois la reine Victoria.
Longtemps demeure princière, puis royale, le château est maintenant propriété de la ville d’Eu et le domaine est classé Monument Historique depuis 1985.
La Ville d’Eu, chef-lieu de canton de l’arrondissement de Dieppe, est une belle ville historique. Sa personnalité et son originalité sont incontestables : rues et maisons de charme, monuments grandioses, espaces boisés et fleuris, nombreuses boutiques…
Ses sites touristiques sont aussi nombreux que variés et reflètent 2 000 ans d’histoire, de l’archéologie gallo-romaine à la haute technologie industrielle (première verrerie de flaconnage du monde) : églises, musées, édifices civils, parcs, jardins, rues historiques, forêt, chemins de randonnées, mer à proximité (Côte d’Albâtre et Baie de Somme).
