 The current castle was started in 1578 by Henri de Guise and Catherine de Clèves and ended with the Grande Mademoiselle, cousin of King Louis XIV in 1665. In the 19th century, it became the summer residence of King Louis-Philippe who received twice Queen Victoria.
Including today the Louis Philippe Museum, the castle keeps the memory of its successive owners through its collections of furniture, tableware, paintings and reconstituted interiors. Rooms such as lounges, the office or the dining room, make the castle of Eu a place of life and discovery of the decorative arts of the nineteenth century.
The current interior decoration is the work of the famous architect Eugene Viollet-le-Duc, already restorer of the castle of Pierrefonds or Notre Dame de Paris. The rose garden and the small park are also open to the public.

 Le château actuel a été commencé en 1578 par Henri de Guise et Catherine de Clèves et terminé par la Grande Mademoiselle, cousine du roi Louis XIV en 1665. Au XIXe siècle, il devient la résidence d’été du roi Louis-Philippe qui y reçut deux fois la reine Victoria.
Comprenant aujourd’hui le musée Louis-Philippe, le château garde le souvenir de ses propriétaires successifs à travers ses collections de meubles, de vaisselles, de tableaux et de ses intérieurs reconstitués. Des pièces comme les salons, l’office ou la salle à manger, font du château d’Eu un lieu de vie et de découverte des arts décoratifs du XIXe siècle.
La décoration intérieure actuelle est l’oeuvre du célèbre architecte Eugène Viollet-le-Duc, déjà restaurateur du château de Pierrefonds ou de Notre Dame de Paris. La roseraie et le petit parc sont également ouverts au public.
