Edward Ives died of consumption (tuberculosis) which also killed is father Allen, mother Rebeckah, brother Simeon, and sister Esther all between 1797 and 1803. The headstone is inscribed:

of Mr. Edward Ives
who on the 22nd Nov.
1803 & in 21st Year
of his Age died of the
Consumption, by his
side are laid Parents,
a Brother and Sister
who all in the space
space of 5 years died of
the same Disease
