Restored in 2000, this circa 1905 heritage building was once the electricity substation that powered the town's streetlights and homes.

This station transformed the 6,500 watts coming from the Bankhead power plant so that it could be used to power the town's streetlights and homes.

The transformer station is one of only two buildings in Banff made of locally manufactured yellow brick. It is of Italianate-inspired design and was restored in 2000.
