Just below the "tower" on the Lake Jed Johnson trail, the trail looks over the lake both ways. To the right you see the dam, to the left is the parking area.

The "tower" looks to be CCC made of local stone. My guess is a fire lookout. No markings now. The doorway and lower windows are closed by steel plates bolted thru the rock, to keep vandals out. Lots of broken glass around.
The trail is only .5 miles, but seems longer because of the altitude gain and the rocks you have to climb over.
Wildfires went thru the park a coupe years ago, most areas have not had a chance to recover yet (the drought.) This trail was not burnt. At the end of March, the trees and bushes were just starting to bud out. Not much vegetation to block views.
