In Boston, at the junction of New Chardon Street and Merrimac Street, is the Edward Brooke Courthouse, which serves the central region of the Boston Municipal Court system.
The court is on the west side of the intersection, in the same block with other government buildings.
The courthouse is a eight-story white structure that is roughly triangular-shaped. The surface has white walls with granite stone on the bottom floor. The cornerstone on the right says 1998.
The courthouse serves the downtown Boston, Chinatown, South End, West End, North End, and Beacon Hill neighborhoods. It not only houses the courts, but also is where the administrative offices are for the system. The Boston Municipal Court System is part of the Trial Court of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
