The 3D representation is located outside the Adams and Paige Building, located on Stoney Street, in the Lace Market district of Nottingham.
It is No.6 in a trail of landmarks situated around Nottingham. It shows the front of the building and the title Adam's & Paige Building, 1855 in raised letters with braille underneath.
The building, which was formerly a lace showroom and warehouse, was built in 1855 and modelled on a grand country house in the Anglo-Italian style.
It was designed by one of the country’s leading architects, Nottingham-born Thomas Chambers Hine for Adams, Page & Co. Thomas Adams was a lace manufacturer and philanthropist who was born at Worksop, Nottinghamshire on 5th February 1807.
"Built in an E shape to maximise light and space, the building included a chapel, dining room, library, washing facilities and a heating/ventilation system. Adams revolutionised workers’ conditions by giving them a 9 hour day! A visiting doctor from Manchester described the factory girls as “So healthy and fresh they could have been hay making, not lace making”. The building was designed with an Italianate frontage and was meant to impress buyers." (
