The Forth Bridge was completed on March 4th 1890 and was the longest span in the world at the time. It was designed in a cantilever style and used 54,000 tons of mild steel. It spans a narrow point of the Firth of Forth carrying the east coast railway line towards Edinburgh some seven miles to the south-east.

The picture was drawn at 8.30am on September 17th 2017 on the southern shore just east of the bridge.
