Steam Locomotive Hobum 1 (Hobum)
Tender - Steam Locomotive L 22.15
Factory number 23485, company number 1
It is a B-tender locomotive with one driven and one coupled axle for a top speed of 30 km / h. Due to the simple and robust construction, the locomotive was very reliable. The boiler is made of Siemens Martin mild steel, the firebox made of copper. The locomotive has 2 cylinders and a Heusinger control.
History:
The locomotive was built in 1937 by Henschel and son in Kassel. She was an operating locomotive at the Harburg oil works Brinkmann and Mergell until the 1970s. The original color was black / red, later blue.
On 03.12.2003, the locomotive was handed over to the Hamburg Maritim Foundation and parked on the tracks of the marshalling yard Hamburg-Süd.
On 27.07.2004 she was moved to the current location on the 50s shed. The newly founded Association of Friends of the Historic Port Railway under the umbrella of the Hamburg Maritime Foundation took over on 11.09.04 the support (receipt, possibly repair and operation) of the locomotive.
The work on the locomotive has focused on the preservation of the existing condition, visually it was significantly restored by the employees of the "civil work" completely.
