Sulphur is the County Seat of Murray County, and once part of the Chickasaw Nation. This Lucky 7 is anchored by the beautiful mural in the lobby of the post office, created by Albert Reid, under a New Deal program in 1939. The painting shows a stagecoach racing across the prairie, along with a cattle drover.
In the beautiful Chickasaw National Recreation Area (formerly Platt National Park), there are so many things to see and do, and beautiful natural wonders. Be sure to see the Lincoln Bridge, a granite block arch pedestrian bridge in the Park, constructed in 1909. Sulphur is also the location of the largest artesian well in Oklahoma.
