Salle de
spectacle construite en 1903, à l'initiative de Jean-Florent Van Missiel, sous
le nom de théâtre de La Renaissance, d'après des plans de l'ingénieur-architecte
Paul Tombeur, datés du 30 mai 1903. L'autorisation de bâtir est délivrée le 21
mars 1904. C'est à cette époque que la salle acquiert sa physionomie actuelle.
Le théâtre est entièrement restauré par l'architecte M. Devignée après un incendie
en 1926. Le théâtre se situe rue Lulay des Febvres, près du croisement de
celle-ci avec le Passage Lemonnier. Il présente une intéressante façade de
style Art Déco, enduite et peinte, qui a remplacé la façade d'origine après
l'incendie de 1926.
Sont classés : la façade à
rue à l'exception du rez-de-chaussée, la totalité des toitures, y compris la
charpente métallique, et la salle de spectacle, à l'exception des sièges.

Theater gebouwd in 1903, op initiatief van Jean-Florent
Van Missiel, onder de naam Renaissance theater, volgens de plannen van
ingenieur-architect Paul Tombeur, gedateerd 30 mei 1903. De vergunning voor
bouwen werd uitgegeven op 21 maart, 1904. Het was in deze tijd dat de zaal haar
huidige uiterlijk kreeg. Het theater is volledig gerestaureerd door architect
M. Devigne na een brand in 1926. Het theater bevindt zich in de rue Lulay des
Febvres, vlakbij de kruising ervan met de Passage Lemonnier. Het heeft een
interessante Art Deco-gevel, geschilderd en geverfd, die de oorspronkelijke
gevel na de brand van 1926 verving.
Zijn ingedeeld: de gevel naar de straat behalve de begane
grond, alle daken, inclusief het metalen frame, en het auditorium, met
uitzondering van de stoelen.
