Voor dit beeld heeft de Egmondse boot nr. 5, die er in het museum staat, model gestaan. Deze boot van de Noord en Zuid Hollandse Redding Maatschappij voer van 1912 tot 1939 vele malen uit. De toenmalige NZHRM – nu KNRM, Koninklijke Nederlandse Redding Maatschappij, bestaat sinds 1824. Dit beeld ter herinnering aan boten die vele schipbreukelingen hebben gered is geplaatst op 2 december 2004 en onthuld door de wethouders Trap en Zwakman van gemeente Bergen."

The Egmond boat No. 5, which stands here in the museum, was the model for this statue of the rowing rescue boat in the surf.
This boat of the Noord and Zuid Hollandse Redding Royal Dutch Rescue Company sailed many times from 1912 to 1939. The NZHRM, now KNRM, Royal Dutch Rescue Company, has been in existence since 1824.
This statue in memory of boats that have saved many shipwrecked people was placed on 2 December 2004 and unveiled by the aldermen Trap and Zwakman of the municipality of Bergen. "
