Depuis 1845, le musée national Adrien Dubouché conserve près de 18 000 œuvres en céramique (poterie, grès, faïence et porcelaine) et verre de toutes les époques, depuis l'Antiquité jusqu'à nos jours, et provenant de toutes les civilisations du monde.
Il présente la plus riche collection publique de porcelaine de Limoges : de la première porcelaine de Limoges sortie des fours en 1771 jusqu'aux créations les plus récentes.

Il tient son nom de François-Louis Bourcin-Dubouché dit Adrien Dubouché (Limoges 1777- Jarnac 1881), baron d'Empire. Industriel dans le Cognac, grand amateur d'art, il consacre son temps libre aux céramiques. En 1865, il est nommé directeur du musée de Limoges et fait don de près de plus de 4000 objets à ce musée. En 1870, il est élu maire de Limoges.

The Place:

Since 1845, the Adrien Dubouché National Museum has conserved nearly 18,000 ceramic works (pottery, sandstone, earthenware and porcelain) and glass from all ages, from Antiquity to the present day, and from all the world's civilizations .
It presents the richest public collection of Limoges porcelain: from the first Limoges porcelain in 1771 to the most recent creations.

The Person:

It takes its name from François-Louis Bourcin-Dubouché said Adrien Dubouché (Limoges 1777- Jarnac 1881), Baron of Empire. Industrialist in Cognac, a great art lover, he devotes his free time to ceramics. In 1865, he was appointed director of the Limoges Museum and donated nearly 4,000 objects to this museum. In 1870 he was elected Mayor of Limoges.
