was unveiled by Mr. K. C. BRAZEL,
NSW State Manager of Australia Post,
in the presence of
The Rt. Hon. IAN SINCLAIR M.P.,
Member for New England
1886 - 1986 30 May, 1986
From the Register of the National Estate account and description:
"A Victorian Free Classical style building of stuccoed brickwork with three two storey arcaded and balustraded facades (one now obscured) of well proportioned elements. The clock tower has an unusual open cupola housing the bell which strikes the hours. The cupola is of cast cement concrete, a structural innovation. An elegant spiral stair leads from the arcade at first floor level to the clock mechanism." (
