This is the Rice Family marker. Each individual has a small headstone, even the three listed on this obelisk.

The patriarc of this family was Rev. Nathan Lewis Rice He was originally from Kentucky, and even was involved in a debate that lasted sixteen days, beginning November 15, and concluded on December 2, 1843. The basic issues were Christian baptism, the spiritual influence on conversion, and ecclesiastic creeds. Statesman Henry Clay moderated for Alexander Campbell.

Other two on the obelisk are Catherine Rice and James Kerr Rice
