This veteran was a KIA as a result of the Vietnam War just about seven months after graduating High School here. He died in Ben Hoa, Vietnam as a result of hostile gunfire. Recently, he, Along with a casualty across the creek in the adjoining town of Everson had a bridge named after them in their memory. Petrarca is interred at the local catholic cemetery in town.
