This was one of eight marble sculptures imported in 1883 for the Botanical Gardens. It is a marble copy of the bronze Hellenistic statue given to the City of Rome, by Pope Sixtus IV in 1471; where it is known as 'Fedele', 'Fedelino', or 'Spinario'. (visit link)

A family with young children were at this sculpture and enjoying it. It seems in good condition for having been here for more than 130 years.
