 "The burnery is a witness of the social history of the village. In 1920 the BOU vine growers created this cooperative society to escape the monopoly of private distillery companies. This state of mind is peculiar to the commune: the local bank of mutual agricultural credit of BOU, founded in 1906, is the 3rd of the department of Loiret and it is in this village that will also be born in 1938 the agricultural cooperative of the Valley Average of the Loire (today "Terr'Loire").
It is also the witness of the agricultural history, more particularly viticultural, of the village. In 1907 more than half of its territory is still planted with vines (243 ha / 440 ha) and this crop will remain dominant until 1928. In 1922 and 1924 more than 20,000 liters of brandy are distilled in BOU.
The very principle of distillation (transformation of grape pomace or fermented fruit into alcohol) is interesting from a scientific and technical point of view. The same process is used for the distillation of flowers (production of perfumes). The study of the material: the still, the boilers as well as the various energy sources used (coal, water, electricity) are approached in a dynamic and inter-active way (electronic animation, video projections). "

 La brûlerie est un témoin de l’histoire sociale du village. En 1920 les vignerons de BOU créent cette société coopérative pour échapper au monopole des entreprises privées de distillerie. Cet état d'esprit est propre à la commune : la caisse locale du crédit mutuel agricole de BOU, fondée en 1906, est la 3ème du département du Loiret et c’est dans ce village que naîtra également en 1938 la coopérative agricole de la Vallée Moyenne de la Loire (aujourd’hui « Terr’Loire »).
C’est aussi le témoin de l’histoire agricole, plus particulièrement viticole, du village. En 1907 plus de la moitié de son territoire est encore planté de vigne (243 ha/440 ha) et cette culture restera dominante jusqu’en 1928. En 1922 et 1924 plus de 20.000 litres d’eau de vie sont distillés à BOU.
Le principe même de la distillation (transformation de marc de raisin ou de fruits fermentés en alcool) est intéressant d’un point de vue scientifique et technique. Le même procédé est utilisé pour la distillation de fleurs (production de parfums). L’étude du matériel : l’alambic, les chaudières ainsi que des différentes sources d’énergie utilisés (le charbon, l’eau, l’électricité) y sont abordés de manière dynamique et inter-active (animation électronique, projections vidéos).

The museum is open on the third Sunday of the month, from 15 to 18 hours, from April to September.
