This fine oranate preserved Door Case today servers as the lower entrance to the Manx Museum. (

The Aedicule has a heavy broken pediment,with scrolls enclosing an urn above over-scaled dentils which seem out of scale with the dainty Ionic Columns. The cable fluting in the lower third of the coloumns was a detail favoured by Robert Adam. (

The Door Case once stood at the entrance to the Market Inn on Chapel Lane, near St Thomas' Church (
visit link) which stood nearby and fortunately for those interested in fine architecture it was save and moved to its present location after the rest of the Public House was demolished.
