"Markthal Rotterdam
The spectacular Markthal in the form of a bow is the new icon of Rotterdam. The Markthal accommodates a market hall and an appartment complex. A great attraction inside is the Horn of Plenty, the biggest work of art in the world.
Food, Food and Food
Opened in 2014 the Markthal makes eating in Rotterdam even better than it already was. About 100 stalls are selling everything you can imagine.
Artwork on the ceiling
It’s hard to miss: the impressive artwork on the ceiling. The ‘Horn of Plenty’ by Arno Coenen is covering 11.000 m2 of bright colors and shapes and for that reason being called the Sistine Capel of Rotterdam.
The Markthal stands on de Binnenrotte at Station Blaak facing the cube houses and the Central Library. On the extensive Binnenrotte, a former, river, the big outdoor market takes place on Saturday and Thursday, with 465 stalls one of the bigger markets in the Netherlands."
