Am heutigen Welt-Mädchentag leuchtet die Selliner Seebrücke in Pink – wie deutschlandweit auch andere Gebäude und Wahrzeichen. Mit dieser Aktion macht die Kinderhilfsorganisation Plan International mit ihren Aktionsgruppen bundesweit auf die Situation von Mädchen in Ländern Afrikas, Asiens und Lateinamerikas aufmerksam.
Mit einem Stand informiert die Plan-Aktionsgruppe Vorpommern-Rügen auf der Seebrücke über die Arbeit von Plan International und das Engagement für die Durchsetzung der Kinderrechte. Im Mittelpunkt steht „Because I am a Girl” – Plans globale Bewegung für Mädchen.
Das Team der Gastronomie der Seebrücke bietet pinkfarbene Leckereien an. Nachmittags sind Kinder zum Basteln eingeladen. Und abends dann erstrahlt das Wahrzeichen des zweitgrößten Ostseebades der Insel Rügen in Pink. Während einer um 19 Uhr beginnenden Veranstaltung im Balticsaal der Seebrücke berichtet die Journalistin Nathalie Schwaiger über ihre Begegnungen mit Mädchen in Nepal, Kolumbien und von den Philippinen."
