On the north edge of Edmond's downtown area at 325 N. Broadway, this three-story red brick building at first looks to be another commercial building. It's rectangular look, with the year of construction (2016) prominently displayed, gives the viewer the impression that Edmond's downtown is moving north.
The truth is, however, that this is the creation of David Chapman, and is his personal residence, a prototype for the "New Urbanism" he is promoting - a private residence, conveniently located in downtown, with the look of its nearby neighbors - commercial buildings. This is a three-story building with a tall, narrow brick design. The main floor has the master bedroom, bath, kitchen and living and dining areas. The second floor has two bedrooms and bath, and the third floor is built for entertainment. A detached two-car garage stands behind.
