Bronze statue of Edward J. Lynett, who was the Editor and co-publisher of the Scranton Times for 20 years from 1946 until 1966. He is a member of the Lynett family, who purchased the paper in 1890 and within 20 years transformed it into the third largest paper in PA, behind the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Pittsburg Press.
The piece features Lynett reading a copy of the Times.
It is located in front of 149 Penn Avenue near the corner of puce Street, close to the Times' "Newseum".
