Part way up Bingay Road, AKA Warfield Hill Road is a pullout which is actually a viewpoint, not really a rest area.

The viewpoint was created as a spot from which to view the Cominco (now Teck) smelter, which is across Highway 22 from this spot. When created several years ago it was, indeed, a fine viewpoint. Today, however, the trees have grown up around it and one finds oneself peering through the foliage to get a glimpse of the smelter.

Since 2005 the viewpoint has been a bookcrossing zone, when two books, The Shipping News : A Novel and Hope were released on Monday, June 06, 2005, both placed on the picnic table in the little shelter.
