In the age of the Upper Jurassic, 150 million years ago, at least eleven dinosaurs ran across a temporarily flooded sandbank in the present-day Wiehengebirge near Barkhausen, leaving their mark.
The petrosomatoglyphs of dinosaurs are now protected and exhibited. TerraVita made this area accessible and interesting for tourists by adding information boards and "real life" looking dinosaurs.
