Already in the year 768 the Anglo-Saxon missionary built a wooden church on the banks of the river IJssel. This missionary was called Lebuïnus. laid the foundation of the city of Deventer With the advent of Lebuïnus.

n 2018 that Deventer was founded exactly 1250 years ago. And that should be celebrated! Deventer is one of the oldest cities of our country. In the year 1250, much has changed. The once small village on the river IJssel became a Hanseatic city and book nowadays event city with international appeal. And the church? That's the Lebuïnuskerk which characterizes the Deventer skyline.
