This lion statue was placed by the Lions Club in 1945. At the time it would have guarded the entrance to the train station on the active Central Ontario Railway. Now the railway is a recreational trail and the station is offices for the Town, Visitor Information Centre, and Mineral Museaum.
The lion was placed by Albert Ciana.
