In the 1980s, plans were announced that Platja Sa Canova and inland, the mega-urbanization "Ravenna" with 35,000 inhabitants and more beds should be created. Also a golf course and a marina were planned. However, this landscape-eating concrete project was hindered by the resistance of the environmental movement and the commitment of Mallorcan artists. So the painter and sculptor Miquel Barceló designed a poster "Sa Canova contra Ravenna". After the long-lasting protests, the Balearic government Sa Canova declared in 1991 to the natural area of particular interest, whereby a development was banned.
For this villa, the builders were probably too fast, so that it was nearly completed, but now is uninhabited.
